I watched Presence and actually quite enjoyed it! :fan: I still need to see Wolfman. I’m going to the AMC on Monday to see a “Scream Unseen” will, which people are saying it might be Heart Eyes which I’m totally fine with! :flutter: otherwise I’m also ok with it being Companion!

Favorite Final Girl?

Classic- Nancy from Nightmare

Modern- Maxine from X

Favorite Horror Movie Sub-Genre?

Folk or Psychological

Which horror movie remake do you prefer over the original?

If this is a safe space? Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003. The original is iconic but never scared me and 70's grindhouse sound design and pacing in general is not my favorite. The remake had everything I needed from the franchise (and a hot cast).

Thank you for this list of movies!

This is my Hannah Montana™️ lipgloss.

Nancy is soooo iconic! Definitely one of my top 3 final girls!

As for Texas Chainsaw… I’m the same :billie: I was obsessed with the film when I was like, 10. I watched the OG and it’s good! Just… I preferred the 03 version lol

I’m glad I can help with the list! :kara: Hopefully it helps you find great movies! Make sure to come back and contribute whenever you can! :holdmyhand:

Scott Foley (Roman Bridger from Scream 3) reportedly returning.

Hot mess in the making, methinks 😒

Matthew Lillard is confirmed to be coming back too! This is insane.

I'm guessing we're in for more "hallucinations" depicting the former killers, all de-aged like Skeeter?

Not the direction I would have gone in, personally 🙃

Still excited, though. Hopefully Sydney & Gale will be the focal point this time.

saw Presence a couple of weeks ago--thought it was good, but realized it wasn't really a scary movie. I saw Companion on Sunday and thought it was a fun time! VERY excited for Heart Eyes and The Monkey!

I loved watching this movie and was on the edge of my seat throughout but I thought it was a missed opportunity to make "something" more elaborate.

Agreed! Just finished watching it and although I found it captivating and suspenseful, I wished there was maybe something in it to sort of wrap up the plot. Don't get me wrong, it's still a good movie and the cast was phenomenal, I just needed maybe 1 or 2 more scenes to complete the story.

Until then, this is Elvira saying unpleasant dreams.

Finally managed to watch some old horror movies so here are my thoughts:

1. Butterfly Kisses (2018): This movie revolves around a guy who found old tapes at his in-law's house. Each tape contains a part of a school project that was done by 2 film students that decided to explore a local urban legend. This 2018 film is shot as a documentary about found footage films with experts on folklore, video editors and a camera crew. My honest thought is that it is a good movie, albeit it focuses too much on the documentary part. I wish we had seen more of the found tapes and what they contain, but all in all the movie does a good job at deconstructing the found footage genre of films such as Blair Witch, Paranormal Activity and Rec.

2. Stay Alive (2006): I think this movie is a perfect example of a movie that got better with age. I believe the film wasn't critically successful when it came out, but it gained a huge following in later years, eventually giving it a cult classic status. The movie follows a group of young adults that investigate what happened to one of their friends. Their path leads them to a video game he was playing and the more they learn about the game, the more they realize something is very wrong. Since I am a huge fan of horror video games, this movie was right up my alley. The game in the movie reminds me so much of those old Silent Hill/Resident Evil games, so if you are a fan of those, definitely check this movie out. It's not the best horror movie of the 2000s, but it still managed to grab my attention. It's one of those movies that would have probably scared me a bunch if I saw it when I was little :laughga: I would love to see a sequel or remake done in 2025/2026.

Trailers:

Unfortunately, I didn't manage to find the trailer for Butterfly Kisses on YouTube :(( so here is the trailer for Stay Alive!
