As a veteran of the Roar Vs. Applause Internet War, I was surprisingly excited for Katy to come back and take part in the renaissance of late 00s/early 2010s pop icons. I was certain she wouldn't throw her hat back in the ring if she didn't have at least 1-2 bops in the bag and some new producers, but... I was wrong. I've never been a Katy fan, but after her cringy behavior on American Idol and her generally successful run in Vegas, I thought she might disappear for a while. It's hard to imagine where she goes after 143 if the current trajectory stays its course....

Honestly, I hope she takes all the time she needs into crafting her next album and hopefully no Dr. Luke. Who knows? She might come back stronger than ever before.
