As soon as they became a thing, I quickly realised it was a major comedown afterwards. The entire era is over on the release day. Sure, videos may be released bit by bit, but there's no guarantee. Beyonce didn't release any videos for Renaissance (I thought she would eventually like the surprise overdue visual album for The Lion King but nothing ever came of it) and by the looks of things, nothing will come of Cowboy Carter either. I think if Gaga wants to drop a full album, her fans will be expecting a visual album. As much as Gaga is obviously solidified, she's never been the most successful artist when it comes to her album tracks charting. Bloody Mary was a major fluke but she's yet to put out an album where all the tracks chart on the top 100. It's artists like that who do well with entire album drops. Beyonce's aren't as impactful as they once were but because the first 2 times she did this were so successful, she just gets a pass now regardless of where the songs end up. But Gaga's never done this and I feel she needs successful singles to really push an album. She can sell albums, obviously, but there needs to be known singles pushing them. AP started flagging after Applause, Joanne didn't start taking off until MR and Chromatica didn't start taking off until ROM. But she could always turn the most successful tracks into singles, of course. But I just like set singles with videos.
