But also, Republicans have a different view on what freedom means based on their bubble. For example, you say Democrats help the poor, but Republicans have different view on how the poor should be helped. Please, agree to disagree and let this debate go. We need to recalibrate the discussion back to the topic of the Democratic National Convention. Stand in the light, cast your shadow.
PartySick 172,545
I see the vibes are still off Let's just say I don't find certain things nearly as abrasive as others do (maybe my Florida tolerance, I mean, red hats call me a f*g weekly, the hell do I care if someone doesn't condemn MAGAs ) BUT reports have been opened and other mods with different tolerances are discussing On that note, stop quoting people that piss you off and let's celebrate having an amazing candidate Whimsical bitch

Joe Biden's done a fantastic job for us, Kamala Harris will both continue his good work and enact even more progressive policies It's fine if you don't agree with whatever she stands for but to call us ignorant or blind for picking the best leader we can is crazy when you know nothing about life in the US or how this moment feels for us Whimsical bitch

Since it seems that you have all of the answers based on what you're saying, tell us, what is the ideal solution in your eyes? As others have said, Kamala is bringing hope to this country at time when the rights of many in the U.S. are on the line. 50% of the U.S. population already lost their reproductive freedom and that's horrible on it's own. We cannot risk others losing things like the right to marry or being separated from their families. Kamala is not perfect, but she is miles ahead of what Trump will offer. You're concerned with genocide? It's going to get worse tenfold if Trump wins. What's happening in Palestine is atrocious, and again, not saying it's going to end immediately with Kamala, but it for damn sure guarantees that not everyone is completely wiped out per Trump's wishes. We need to ensure she is voted in first, then we can put pressure on her to improve the situation.

All the pro-Palestine protesters know for a fact that Trump is too deluded and authoritarian to budge, but Kamala is not so there is a chance that she will. History has proven that this can work. There was major pressure on Obama in 2012 to stop deporting children of immigrants, and he would go on to create DACA and still win. After immense pressure, he would also cancel Keystone. These people focus on democrats because they actually are capable of changing, unlike MAGA cult politicians. he/him/his
PartySick 172,545
Lemme be selfish for a second and say I'm lowkey tired of this one singular foreign policy issue ruling every conversation on the left I am POOR. I need to eat, I need lower gas prices, lower home/rent costs, lower utility costs, I'd love to actually have healthcare and go to the doctor without it costing hundreds or thousands of dollars, I'd love to actually get diagnosed with ADHD or depression and get some form of actual treatment, I want the roads I drive on to be fixed, I want the wetlands I live around to be protected, I want climate change to be addressed, I want billionaires to pay what they owe, and I want higher wages for people like me and the ones I love. The Biden/Harris administration has done exceptionally well in pointing us in the right direction for all of this, she already has my vote based on that alone. Bonus: she believes in and is actively working towards an independent Palestinian state free of Israeli occupation and Israeli violence. People have short memories. Before Hamas' attack on Israel, billions of US tax dollars were funneled into Gaza to modernize their internet and communication capabilities, repair and build their industries, forge professional relationships within Israel and other countries, and grow the Palestinian economy with the eventual goal of having an independent state where Palestinians can manifest whatever direction they saw fit for their people and home. Much of that project was overseen by "Genocide Joe" and "Killer Kamala" their current course of action is the ONLY course that gets us back to that point where we can start all over again. I don't understand anyone who has a problem with any of this just because she's intelligent enough to know that pulling the rug out from under Israel just makes the entire situation much more dangerous for both innocent Israelis AND people who are already in Israel's crosshairs. It's doom Gaza and give Israel the go ahead to do whatever the hell they wanted with the West Bank, Lebanon, and wherever else. It'd also leave millions of innocent Israelis vulnerable to attacks from groups and neighboring nations. It does no good. Your ire should be pointed at Israel and Hamas. The US' officials aren't over there dropping bombs. There are no US boots on the ground other than within Gaza giving out food, water, and medicine. Most of the weapons we give to Israel are meant to be solely defensive. The only way this immediate conflict will end is if Israel and Hamas agree to stop it. Israel has agreed to the latest proposal, I hope Hamas takes them up on it. I think this'll be the last time I speak on this specific issue for a while. I'm tired and we have our own problems to address. I also have volunteer hours to clock for the Florida Democratic Party to get this exceptional woman elected, defeat the jackass senator we have a chance to unseat, and maybe flip a few local seats too to stop the backsliding on gay and women's rights in this state. You know my niece's preschool has no books because every one they did have before was banned by the government? Preschool books are being banned Whimsical bitch
