Chromatica's HBO special being snubbed at the Emmys and making zero noise. Joker being a critical and Comercial failure of epic proportions. Harlequin being another failure. And now LG7 era is not looking that promising. Maybe if The Weeknd collab rumors are true we can get a hit but I'm not holding my breath. So much negativity lmao, stream the music, get off this f’ing site and enjoy the art. My god. Song was released literally 5 days ago and you’re saying the LG7 era doesn’t look promising? Seriously, wtf — who, what, where, when and why? All because of impossible metrics many of you hyper-fixate on even though she cannot (nor has she even shown in interest to) fulfill? So many of you here are literally the disease she’s talking about and you fail to even see it lol Edited Wednesday at 03:38 PM by gemein3 11 2

I guess the GP just wants her AC stuff (Which is still hit or miss as HMH flopped) Hmm it had her biggest solo debut ever on the streaming charts….. and is still pulling 2M + updates…… how is that doing badly? Y’all expected 10M updates every day because they have an unprecedented shallow level hit on the charts right now? This isn’t a slow ballad about love, this is a dark, goth, pop song, give it time, even if it’s peaked, it’s one of her best singles ever. 8 1

Harlequin is a masterpiece, don't get it twisted. Lady Gaga was praised critically despite Joker 2 flopping in the box office. Chromatica Ball Film's sole purpose was not to win an Emmy Award bffr, that would just have been a bonus. The release itself was the win. Most pop girls' specials don't even get nominated. And Disease has gotten positive reactions across the board despite not debuting with huge numbers. It also finally gave us the DarkGa everyone has been craving for. All these things you so casually brand as failures are amazing expressions of Gaga's artistry. Don't reduce her work to mere numbers. She doesn't have to prove herself to you in that way anymore. 6 3
lilboyblue 3,729
And I am annoyed at people reducing Gaga's role in Die With A Smile... even calling it "a Bruno Mars song." Some fans y'all are. If you pay attention, it has all the marks of her songwriting as heard on ASIB. Fans like you don't deserve anything from her. You people are poison. 16
Naufri 7,090
LG7 IS looking absolutely promising after Decrease. She's flopping, ok, but she's delivering a good song and an interesiting video. We are in the charts thread and we all would love her to have 5 top ten hits each era, but that's not they way it is for her for many albums now. She usually have to WORK to have a hit. Maybe Decrease is not gonna be that hit, but at least she's still delivering. BRAT hasn't had a real hit yet the album has been celebrated and succesful by lot of people. She's delivering good music and the success will come, and if It doesn't come at least she's flopping gracefully. I dont think that the strategy for LG7 is to straight up have a big hit as the lead but rather count on longevity and experimenting which song can resonate with the public the most (like Billie's strategy for HMHAS)

Yeah, I agree. I think charts, sales, and commercial success is fun. It's super interesting and exciting to track it. That's literally why I'm in this thread. But the commercial success should always be the icing on the cake, the bonus. If you try to build an artistic vision or legacy focused mainly on commercial success, you get Katy Perry. This song and video are very well done, and that's an understatement. We, as a fanbase, have to stop using Gaga's commercial successes or lack thereof as the end-all-be-all of "goodness" or "importance." I mean, at the end of the day, her success doesn't line OUR wallets or fill OUR shelves with awards. If you take her chart positions so seriously that it affects your ability to appreciate the art, then you need to ask yourself why. tl;dr -- Chart analysis is very fun, but let's have some perspective. 2 1 1

I’m starting to notice that on here. The songs that highlight her voice — raw, emotion and pure art — are always viciously attacked over idiotic, impossible and pointless metrics. It’s truly ridiculous and I have no doubt she doesn’t look to here for any advice nowadays. 1
CookieHWilson 461
I am really ignorant about how chart works so take this as a fact My question is since this is one of her best singles ever why are we so scared? Are the numbers that low? can’t it be that it will climb in time and have higher numbers in the second week? I see lots of negativity about the situation but, since I don’t understand charts anymore since the streaming ear (Millenial here), and was so used to hear : Gaga new single goes number one (even SL which for me is a really low level song as an album opener) what is happening? is it really that bad or I am not getting (for sure) something? How long did it take for DWAS to climb? What were the first and second week numbers ? I feel men can always succeed at any age , while females (except for the devil Bey) seem that once you clock 30 y old you have no value for the GP i really don’t understand and wasn’t expecting myself to be afraid of the charts. Never happened to me before even during the ARTPOP era problems nonsequitur
bowlsofbrett 331
Just heard Disease on the radio here in North Carolina. Kind of shocked to hear it. They introduced it as “Here’s another hit!” 1
loathereality 24,392
literally she is #1 F artist with the most monthly listeners DWAS will reach Shallow/PF/BR level of global success (20M+), most of the artists cant achieve this twice in the career and gaga will have 4! Gaga is giving us what we want with Disease and it might not reach DWAS level of smile but I still think it will perform at least as well as SL and might achieve ROM success Enjoy the process we are not getting another album for a long time, dont make yourself feel bad for no reason nnn 6

TEANUS 12,036
Disease is still sub-power on Z100 and KIIS FM played it for the first time since last Friday (twice in the last 12 hours) British social ladies with upturned pinkies, glasses clinking // xoxoTEANUS
