Also radio is the reason DWAS didn't go #1 imo. It's at the top spot on Spotify and AM for days now, but it went #2 -> #10 on the airplay chart this week 

Probably because our flop country lacks taste, and rather wants to listen to the stupid Dutch “music” or the songs which have more samples than I can count. Finally DWAS is some actual music, but hey, the Dutch have the attention span of a teaspoon, so lets make sure nothing is longer than 3 minutes

Although a #1 on the hot 100 would be huge, bad romance peaked at #2 on that chart, and you aren’t going to tell anyone that rain on me is a bigger song than BR just because it went #1 on the hot 100.

I get what you’re saying but the anxiety comes from a different perspective. I think we got so exhausted from other fan bases bashing Gaga and the way the last proper pop eras aka ARTPOP and Chromatica were so messy that we are kinda craving for a well done rollout and a solo hit this time, not that she needs to prove anything but still… I guess that’s the feeling.

I see your point but also remember 

 

TF and TFM did not go #1 on the billboard 200, and yet are the biggest albums out of any 2009/2010 pop girls other than I think 21 by Adele in pure sales/streams. 
 

longevity and impact matters and having a song on the BBB100 top 10 for over a month vs a #1 and then dropping out after 2-3 weeks is a better thing imo.
