I never took Bey not writing a lot of her own lyrics as a sign of her being less artistically involved with her work. There is so much more involved with making her iconic projects and comparing Taylor's love songs to Bey's songs celebrating black and queer cultures or bringing attention to the issues communities are facing? It's a disservice idk.

No I know what you mean. I said this when people were dragging the renaissance credits but they forget that in *most non white cultures but especially Black American cultures, music making is a communal effort. It’s not about the individual except maybe as the performer. Notice how most of the most prolific Black musicians are not especially known for songwriting like a Bruce Springsteen type. They’re known as phenomenal PERFORMERS. There’s just no way in hell Beyoncé does not have an insane level of control and contribution for the quality to be as high as it is consistently for her. Even her worst isn’t an objectively bad song just kinda forgettably solid. That’s a hell of a batting average for someone not involved at all in their artistic output.
