I think it's like a "baton pass" off for the next Olympics host city. Since LA is next (and Billie is from LA), she performed there.

Well, that's disappointing. The stage, the sound issue, the crowd, and the song choice.

The Tom Cruise part and the Dr. DRE + Snoop Dog performance are the best moments about LA tonight. I mean... even the national anthem by H.E.R. is underwhelming imo.

Okay yeah that was weird  She sounded great as expected but something about the sound was off at some points. The setup was also very weird, the beach thing doesn't work, the fact that she's hidden in the shade while Finneas is in the spotlight due to the sun is wild, the crowd is clearly fake, the whole thing was... strange. Love her though, she ate those vocals.

Well even for the opening ceremony performances in Paris they weren't paid...

so I doubt the closing ceremony performers got a cheque, be it the ones in Paris or the ones in LA.

Other than the setup (it doesn't match the song) I can't see what's so wrong with the performance. She sounds great.
