I see it more as a humble way to admit she underestimated Gaga and didn’t see the connection, while still giving credit to Todd Philips who did- giving credit where credits due.

No way she is getting fired, as she’s got an arsenal of heavy hitting actors in her wheelhouse.

What’s REALLY exciting is Francine Maisler is the casting director for 
Denis Villeneuve, Damien Chazelle,  Luca Guadagnino, Adam McKay, Steve McQueen, Alex Garland, Aaron Sorkin,
Jeff Nichols and more- very important directors of today. 

Francine is right that A Star Is Born is in Gaga’s wheelhouse [as well as House of Gucci], she can play those characters, as there’s a bit of semblance of Gaga within. 

The “a-ha!” moment that Gaga is a very strong actress and has it within her to pull an incredible performance outside her wheelhouse opens SO many doors for her future roles.
