LG7 time now

I couldn’t care less about Taylor and this strategy is kinda ridiculous but I love that she keeps doing it and makes all the haters MAD for no reason :ladyhaha:

no you don't, why would you want music to be more expensive and filled with FOMO? the boot licking is weird

Just listen to it online. I don't pay for it. Those who have the cash can pay for it. She's not holding a gun to your head is she?

i hope not. i would unstan immediately. Gaga’s shameless cash grabs have already put a sour taste in my mouth, this is on another level

Atp I'm used to it. At least it'll be music related. I'd rather that than her disappear for months and come back with another makeup ad :messga:

actually yes she is, in a way. giving fans 48 hours to buy another whole album with one extra track is insane and piracy is only viable if you're educated on the matter

it's really weird to defend music becoming more expensive...

Remember that Kim edited that video

Because it was lots of short clips that were put together on Snapchat. Of course it's edited in that sense. But there's audio proof of Taylor consenting to the line "Taylor Swift and I might still have sex" and she had no problem with it whatsoever and she later also acknowledges him saying "Now what if I said later in the song 'I made her famous?'" and even responds "What am I going to do about it?" She then proceeds to say that it's whatever at this point, that he has to tell the story the way he experienced it, that he honestly didn't know who she was before and "it's fine." I've seen the entire unedited piece and read the transcript. Literally the only thing she doesn't give permission for is the word "bitch." And like I've said before, Taylor knows that word is heavily ingrained in hip hop culture, it doesn't have to be meant negatively and she understood how you can say something crazy in a song just to be edgy and that it was all just showbusiness. I mean, Kanye even says on the call that he's got another line on the album where he says he could totally have been friends with Ray J if "we both didn't love the same bitch." He calls his own wife a bitch, which proves that he uses the word in a non-derogatory way, so Taylor had no reason to be offended by him calling her this word, it was clearly just used to make the line sound cooler, edgier and rock n roll.

But then she turned around when that song came out and feigned complete ignorance of its existence and made no mention of any phone call with Kanye beforehand, she spun it as a complete victim narrative and everyone was believing her lie. Kim was understandably enraged and put that video out to prove Taylor was lying about her lack of knowledge and involvement. The full un-edited clip actually further proves that Taylor lied even more than we thought she did. Yet, somehow, her fans have successfully tried to convince the world otherwise. It's one of the most outrageous pieces of gaslighting I've ever seen. Video proof exists of Taylor giving her permission. She has no defence or leg to stand on here. And I'll keep on saying this every time it comes up so people know the truth. Taylor and her fans just don't want to take responsibility for being wrong.

So my question to people who care this much is accountability to who? You? Because this is a great example of unhealthy standom. I mean no disrespect, but I could genuinely not care less about disliking/hating any artist to this degree, or pursuing “justice” about a situation that I’m not involved in and therefore could not determine what justice and accountability even should be. I’ve been there, and it made me any everyone else around me miserable.

Exactly, even many Swifties get this. Yt converters and downloads. I’ve bought exactly one variant of each album and the rest… you obtain lol

You cared enough to bring it up in defense of Taylor. :bear:

So stealing music is ok? That's your stance? Is that what Taylor's practices have forced y'all into advocating for? :bear:

I have never had an issue with anti-capitalist tactics, particularly when I purchase two physical copies and still use streaming. I also don’t support trademarks or copyright beyond an artist’s death. I don’t think most fans actually understand the varying payouts of individual artists either. Pirating usually hurts record labels far more often than it hurts artists and even that is a simplification on my ethical viewpoint on this. But if you’re voting, it’s gonna be with your wallet not the void. Screaming online is just engagement KPIs and Ad Sense, flame bait is highly profitable. No one who should care, actually cares about crowd opinions.

The US priority is primarily in profit margins, particularly in the short-term. I also am not in some state of shock by her Capitalist antics, her parents have a highly corporate background and none of this is remotely new. Those are also reasons I’m studying forensic accounting, because I agree with much of the criticism towards Capitalist tendencies, but I also don’t think the focus that will actually help is in the right place. And I’m not waiting for representatives to care when they are part of that system or wasting time yelling. I’m learning how the play the game to help people understand how to change the rules.

Yes, I absolutely did mention it in defense because frankly, much of the anti-Taylor group has gotten equally as incendiary as extreme Taylor stans are, and I’m tired of internet wars, oversimplifications, and disinformation. As indicated by other responses I’ve given, my personal take on the Kim drama was that everyone was acting childish, it always was. I’m not a hardcore Taylor fan, wasn’t even a casual fan till folklore, but I’m also not about people acting more shady than actually necessary about either. I take the same position with every artist. Criticism is fine and fair, but being spiteful and anti-anyone as a personality trait isn’t, neither are mobs whether online or not. I don’t think individual situations make the sum whole of whether someone is a good or bad person. In fact, I don’t personally believe most people are either good or bad, we’re people and all people make good and bad decisions.

Not every thread about Taylor Swift needs to become a s*** on TS thread. I’m personally just out here trying to enjoy as much music from as many artists as I can in 2024 and find some reconnection with other humans, not scream about who is taking up what or how much space. Most people are more receptive to you sharing the good about artists you enjoy than crapping on artists that they like. No one said you had to like them too, and being shady isn’t changing anyone’s minds. Unless there becomes a rule that only Gaga can be discussed here, there are going to be Taylor threads, and Billie threads, and Beyoncé threads, and Orville threads, and Aurora threads. I love it here for that exact reason just as much as I love it for Gaga. I don’t love the shade, drama, and conspiracy.

You're more dramatic than TS :cryga:

I feel like fans for better or worse expect this from her. No new fan is gonna shill that much money for her to begin with. I'm not tech savvy and it's kinda easy to listen to it all. Idk seems like you have an axe to grind and use this to support your stance.
