Well, we certainly won't know what's true or not since there's no video and we weren't there, but if anything, was it so hard mentioning that on the plane's speaker? I was once on a flight where the crew mentioned it, so it's definitely something that they do. 

In any cases they won't be responsible for passengers eating the nuts or not, unless they didn't warn them, right?

It kinda sounds like both sides escalated and there may be blame on both ends to letting it get to that point tho its hard to know for sure without seeing the full nuances of how it happened

 

But I will say I think its a dumb policy to not be allowed to make an announcement like that. How does it in anyway hurt?

 

Ill also add customer service is getting worse and worse in general. The rise of the Karens now seem to be an excuse on the part of customer service ppl to not want to listen or retify any situation and do their jobs. Some complaints of poor service or a bad situation can be legitimate as well, its not always entitlement
