Israel looking to negotiate “voluntary migration” of Gazans

The “voluntary” resettlement of Palestinians from Gaza is slowly becoming a key official policy of the government, with a senior official saying that Israel has held talks with several countries for their potential absorption.

Zman Israel, The Times of Israel’s Hebrew sister site, has learned that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s coalition is conducting secret contacts for accepting thousands of immigrants from Gaza with Congo, in addition to other nations.

The far-right Religious Zionism and Otzma Yehudit parties, headed by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, respectively, have backed the plans for migration.

On Tuesday, the US State Department called out Smotrich and Ben Gvir for advocating the resettlement of Palestinians outside of Gaza, slamming their rhetoric as “inflammatory and irresponsible.”

I read the first part of the title and was hopeful it was gonna read “negotiate w Hamas to release the hostages” but as nakedly shown, Israel’s gov doesn’t care about them

And I guarantee you'll see members on this site applauding these bigots for this. Palestinians have been saying for years that Israel wants to push them out of Gaza for continued settlements. It's disgraceful that people are still being obtuse about this.

As far as I know, 2/3 days ago Egypt suggested to Hamas to release hostages in exchange for a retreat of all Israeli soldiers, Hamas accepted but Israel refused, so nah Israel doesn't give a damn about the hostages

Exactly what I’m referring to. We saw this work a couple months ago for a week, so there’s no reason to believe they’re bluffing.

Well, I agree the gov needed to act better about the hostages, 

but As far as I know, the main goal for this war now is to COMPLETELY wipe out Hamas. If IL took the deal, then yes, the war might be over, but Hamas will keep existing and expanding again and eventually attack again. Any country that is smart enough will know that they need to do everything they can so that terrorist group will cease to exist.

The reality is showing that this task is impossible, even if you wipe out the whole population of Gaza, Hamas leaders are not in Gaza and we see how easily they can recover the whole organization.

At this moment, areas in Gaza that has been declared as cleaned of Hamas, are not anymore, Hamas is back there and started to shoot rockets to Israel again.

More than that, as long as there are negotiations with Hamas, Israel is giving them legitimacy.

 

This war will end up with zero or very mild changes, a ceasefire, a few hostages will come back, a few will stay most likely die, no Palestinian state, Hamas still in Gaza, netanyahu will win another elections... until the next war.

Also, you can't wipe out violent extremist groups through sheer violence & oppression. 

As the west found out when they went after the Taliban, you just radicalise the unradicalised and end up with more people shooting at you...
