So obviously they gave Netherlands and Finland a good placement but also Sweden and France. Austria is a bit early but Loreen also won from 9. It’s gonna be Sweden, Finland or France.

We had far worse and explicit songs and stagings in Eurovision. If you don't want your children to see it or hear it, then don't let them watch it. 

Children just hear a song about milkshake, the fact grown ups sexualize it for them is kinda the problem here. We literally are on a Gaga forum were most of us were kids or teenagers that sang about riding disco sticks, now come on now. We are still doing fine after that aren't we?

Considering it's on at primetime on a Saturday night and is aimed at families, you'd think there would be more push for something more suitable for all. The closest thing to being more visually explicit would be windows95man last year but at least that song wasn't explicit. I have more issue with the lyrics than presentation. I'm struggling to think of more explicit songs that have featured before. If children are told to go out the room for one song, they're going to want to know why and end up looking it up. And I felt uncomfortable watching this with my parents. How do you listen to such song content in front of them?

Actually, kids now unfortunately do know a lot more than they should when it comes to terminology and it's partly because songs like these exist that they can easily access that normalise this. At least LoveGame was just referring to regular intercourse which everyone has to do to make babies. Milkshake Man is about swallowing which is only done for pleasure, so it's by nature more explicit. It's not just about kids hearing this as well. As a woman, I feel most uncomfortable with a man singing a song about how we should drink his milkshake. Women are so sexualised in music and songs like this reinforce what's expected of us by men and it's sad that we normalise it as just a bit of fun. I'm for free speech and I'm not a prude but there's a time and place for this stuff. If you're going to make an explicit song, don't promote it, make people seek it out. But putting it out on a national tv show for all to hear, with lyrics like that? Too much.

I think a lot of people looked upon it as a rip-off of last year's windows95man (which only got 39 points in the final anyway) and maybe thought it just went a bit too far with the lyrics as I was saying above. Australia is always going to have a harder time qualifying anyway because they don't have the loyalty and camaraderie that European nations will have. The singer was half French so maybe they thought it would work well in their favour but maybe its outrageousness was seen as a bit too try-hard. I have the feeling if it was from a European country, it would've qualified, though.

I'm sorry but I saw pretty much the same discussions last year. Religious/PC people that got upset and offended by Bambie Thug. It was said that they shouldn't have been allowed in the contest because people should not have to see "satanic acts".

Who are these people to put a limit on creators work and decide what should be seen and what should not be seen?
If you see something you get offended by/don't approve of, simply turn the TV off, go to the bathroom, refill your popcorn bowl or whatever. No one is forcing you to watch.
