Genuinely so frustrated that anyone is even publicly celebrating this because they don’t like the app because all it does is empower our government to spend their time doing more pointless bullshit like this instead of what they were actually elected to do.

It'll go into effect after the elections, like 6 months after the elections. I doubt it'll be a major campaign issue.

nothing will happen for at least 12 months, and i’m sure the company will sell it to someone by then.

For me it's less about the "security" or "information breaches" as our information is leaking everywhere and one more app isn't going to change that. 

What I'm against is what constant scrolling of short videos and quick dopamine hits is doing to our brains, not to mention kids (who's brains are still growing).

Also, the platform is INCREDIBLY divisive and is making the lines drawn between us even thicker. Whether it's a political party or racial group or sexual orientation/identity, the app is garbage and allows byte sized commentary or scenes taken out of context for people to take them at face value. 

Tbh I could go on and on but I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority here...
