I’m hopeful but not so sure this helps Democrats as much as many are saying it will. 

We’ve seen the electorate split in many states. They vote to keep abortion rights but also keep voting Republicans in.

Idk, I feel like, especially if they’re able to get a referendum on the ballot, with both Trump and Lake at the top of the Republican ticket, it’d be very hard for voters to decouple this issue from those who are both partially responsible for it + have voiced support for it.  I think the extent of how much it helps, as you said, is probably the question, but I think it helps without a doubt.

Ballot supporters are saying they already have 500k+ and they only need 400k to get on the ballot.

So basically the original law was never repealed or blocked by a specific court decision or move by the legislature in Arizona. 

Prior to the Roe v Wade repeal, Az passed an abortion ban that was actually less restricted than this old one, without explicitly stating if it over ruled the original. Both came into effect upon the Roe repeal. This case was about reconciliation of the competing laws.
