Maxine Puth 9,052 Posted March 8 Share Posted March 8 Anyone else hate it when people give their review of music and are like “it was so bad I didn’t even finish it” You couldn't get through a 3 minute song and decided instead that the first verse was enough to write a whole review about it. Like it could be an amazing or cleverly made song but just because it's 'House' or 'Country' etc. they say it's a bad song, or it could be a poorly designed song with lots of flaws, but just because it's got a 'cute vibe' or something people will defend it to their last. I find that kinda biased and ignorant. I tend to be very critical of music because I'm a music nerd and study music etc, and love to critique (and I am guilty of this sometimes), but I try not to judge music purely on my preferences. I’ve done it but since i don’t like to be that person i force myself to listen to give another perspective. even in the car i junge my boyfriends songs in 30 seconds. The reality is that usually thats enough to form an opinion about knowing how it unfolds. For an álbum is a bit more difficult, unless its that bad. But at least one could try to listen just a bit o every song and then not everyone needs to be a music critic. If it's a professional doing a revew for a paper, then yes, they can't say they're reviewing an album if they haven't listened to the full thing. But if it's just any old listener, and it's an artist you don't think much of but you're going to make another attempt to like their music, and you go to the track that people seem to be saying is the best, and after two minutes it's clear that it's just same ol same ol, you're not going to persevere.
