Teletubby 137,301 Posted February 23, 2024 Share Posted February 23, 2024 Beyoncé returns to Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart for the first time in 14 years today, with country-tinged single Texas Hold ‘Em vaulting 9-1 on its first full week of availability, with consumption soaring 111.88% week-on-week to 59,272 units (6,072 digital downloads and 53,200 sales-equivalent streams). It becomes Beyoncé’s sixth UK Number 1 single. Texas Hold ‘Em takes its name from a popular variant of poker, so it's somehow appropriate that it is her first No.1 since she teamed with Poker Face hitmaker Lady Gaga for 2010 chart-topper Telephone. Prior to that, her last solo Number 1 came in the form of 2008’s If I Were A Boy. Texas Hold ‘Em also joins; Crazy in Love with Jay Z (2003), Déjà vu with Jay Z (2006) and Beautiful Liar with Shakira (2007). As a member of Destiny’s Child, Beyoncé also claims a further two UK Number 1s; Independent Women (2000) and Survivor (2001). Dua Lipa’s energetic Training Season debuts at Number 4 as this week’s highest new entry and Dua’s 15th Top 10 single. 01.
