Opulence 1,380
Crazy how act ii being a country album was rumoured as long ago as the act i release - there must be some real insiders out there! love the two new tracks though, country is really breaking the mainstream lately i I wonder if the film will be a combination of all 3 acts once act iii is out

And it seemed far-fetched Bey would actually go country. Well, well...
RichAssPiss 4,932
Wasn't there a theory that each act would reclaim the Black roots of a popular genre? House, country, and what was the third one? It seems to be coming true.

RAMROD 109,723
Always politically charged, the black twitter are rejoicing with this announcement and says Beyoncé will reclaim Country genre from white Americans. They way she did with act I when she reclaim ballroom/house music back to black queer community. Since in reality, just like most popular music genres, country music in the U.S. began with Black People. More specifically, the story of country begins with the banjo. The modern-day banjo is a descendant of a West African instrument, made from gourds, called the Akonting. Country music is a melting pot of Black culture. Hillbilly music in particular is a combination of folk songs created by African immigrants from the British Isles in the 18th and 19th century. Southern Black people invented the banjo and the fiddle - popular instruments used in country music - in the 1690s. And I assume she also have the same goals with act iii that said to be rock & roll driven. Since it is heavily influenced by a Deep South Black music genre called rhythm and blues. Sister Rosetta Tharpe - a guitarist who crossed over from gospel music to the sound of rhythm and blues - is looked at as a precursor to rock ‘n’ roll. Her sound influenced early rock ‘n’ roll musicians such as Little Richard, Johnny Cash, and Elvis Presley. Dont forget one of the biggest tours of all time (right?) in 2023. She’s had a banner last 2 years. It’ll be interesting where she takes this album to keep the hype without raising it too much. I’m assuming visuals based on this?
