Sony Group is acquiring a half interest in pop star Michael Jackson’s music catalog from the late singer’s estate for at least $600 million, Billboard reported, saying it’s the largest such deal ever.

The assets include ownership of master recordings and publishing for Jackson’s share of his songs. The deal with the Michael Jackson estate does not include royalties from the Broadway play and other theatrical productions featuring Jackson’s music.

It may not, however, just be Jackson’s music that’s involved in the deal. Sources say the current deal includes non-Jackson-authored songs in his Mijac publishing catalog.

That’s what they wanted to do years ago, right?
I hope at least they will do something good with it, because his streaming pages are horrendous. No bonus tracks, no remixes, no anything.

When we're not together tell me everything's gonna be alright
