Economy 48,920
For anyone whp wasnt a fan or too young to remember her early years this is evidence of how big she really was Gagas peak was the highest peak i witnessed in my life time. Between 2009 to 2011 she essentially was: - biggest artist on social media (most followed on twitter, most viewed artist on youtube (first to 1B views) and most viewed video on youtube (Bad Romance at one point) - most media buzz - among the biggest touring artists - most awards - top selling album artist at the time - 11 top 10s in a row That was truly something to witness

The last time I checked TFM (8 tracks) always came with the standard edition of The Fame?? Ahhhh. Yeah, upon release it was that there was TFM standard and deluxe. Deluxe being the double album. Brunette cover was for the stand alone and blonde for the deluxe. During that period a lot of artists did Ep/Deluxe rereleases as a second album specifically to take advantage of the way charts were calculated. Partially if I recall correctly, it was due to digital sales and complete my album situations in iTunes. So if you already owned the fame - they could say “you own these” on the deluxe listing and then you can buy the fame monster for a much cheaper cost than stand alone. Then nowadays if you stream let’s say the begining of TFM deluxe through enough for the math to make it 1 album stream. Than it applies for TFM as an album stream. It’s not as powerful as a tactic as it was in 2009. But it still applies to a degree. The modern equivalent is making songs around 2 minutes to maximize streaming or the return of the gimmick from the 90’s of making a single that has several different versions of the song (ext/aca/ins)

SevenWonder 4,259
Since we're on the topic and since it's clear Chartmasters has not updated Gaga's page in quite awhile, does anyone know what Chromatica, ASIB, and Joanne's equivalent albums sales are at now? Jack3257 731
My guess is the numbers for The Fame also include sales of TFM with The Fame included.

We can't simultaneously refer to Gaga's next album as LG7 and also believe that TF/M is one album. TF is LG1, TFM LG2. Their sales shouldn't be combined tbh. Can I have a wild opinion? I disagree with Gaga when she says it's a separate body work. The Fame Monster is a continuation of the theme of The Fame, it's just a twist, a turn on the theme. One is light the other is dark. It's just like "ooooh fame, confidence, fun, believing in yourself BUT....". And the latter includes the songs of the first, so, like, am I tripping? She was the most loved but also the most hated at that time. I feel that Taylor does the opposite, she's palatable, so consequently more people consume her. Edit: yeah I realized Taylor is also hated, but by misogynistic men who hate anything very girly and soft and people who can't handle her palatableness (me a little) Paubrasilia echinata

Plus, the Monster Edition is not even on the Spotify, it’s there only as part of The Fame Deluxe. So, according to Spotify, technically she has only 5 her own albums

An EP under 6 but more than 2 and typically less than 30 minutes. BLACKPINK The Album is 100% an album since it’s 8 songs even if it is 24 mins. Just like TFM could be considered an album based off its track list and runtime. Remember these measurements existed because of physical media - specifically vinyl. CDs allowing for much longer songs changed a lot. Streaming actually has brought album length back down to what they historically were prior to digital media. eifulien 2,924
Woah, what a mess, guys. I really hate that the sales of the two albums come combined and tbh the whole release will forever remain a capital mess. I can confirm that on the European market we have 2 versions, currently: 1. the blonde hair cover - 2 disc edition, the image on the back of the jewel case (behind the discs) is the black hair cover. It has the 8 tracks on disc 1 and 14 + 2 tracks on disc 2 from The Fame (bonus tracks: Disco Heaven and Retro Dance Freak. Europe gets this one, the UK gets Again Again but there isn't a single edition on the continent where all 17 tracks exist. I think only in Japan). The booklet is double combining TFM and TF (The Fame is written with the red letters, the standalone European version of TF is with the blue letters). 2. WAIT FOR IT the blonde hair cover - 1 disc edition, it's from 2010, not 2009, the image on the back of the jewel case is the black background with plain white text of the tracklist. The booklet's back is the black hair cover. AND! it has the explicit version of the songs, and no, there's not a single f*cking indication for it - no explicit label whatsoever. The deluxe edition is only edited... Do you guys think when Gaga resigned her record deal with Interscope for Joanne she was able to renegotiate backwards how TFM is treated? Is that even legally possible? Will we ever beat Wikipedia and prove that TFM is her actual second album? I think initially the label treated TFM as a reissue of TF and wanted to capitalise on it but I think for Gaga it was only agreeable if she had TFM separately and then the deluxe edition would include also TF. That's why these editions have disc one as TFM and then the bonus disc is TF - it was just one year after TF so the idea was like "hey in case you still haven't bought TF with its earth-shattering 5 singles, get the deluxe edition - one case, two albums. If it was truly a reissue the "bonus songs" would come after TF (although this could be argued with Gaga's decision for the "Special edition" of BTW where the bonus material is within the OG tracklist. Then again 3 vs. 8 songs, not comparable. Another thing that adds to the confusion is that on the 10th anniversary of TF the label released that USB stick not only with the 17 tracks from the TF but also with the 8 TFM tracks... It wasn't TFM anniversary so like why? It's like releasing AP tracks on the BTW 10 anniversary, ridiculous. And in spite of all that, in 2024 it seems it's still f*cking impossible to have a single edition of TF with 17 tracks. Retro Dance Freak appears on Spotify only on the International Deluxe, but doesn't on the explicit deluxe, and Again, Again is accesible (I assume) only from the UK on the UK Deluxe. Hello, Gaga team, please fix this for once. @nkta I dunno where you're from but the standalone TFM is available - explicit, black hair cover: @SevenWonder I checked the chart master site and all her albums appear with their sales. Have you seen that or you mean that the numbers aren't current? I see ASIB with 10,27 m. ARTPOP 4,95 m. Chromatica 3,72 m. (680k pure album sales tho, wtf, Joanne looks legendary next to it) Joanne 3,53 m.

You are talking about the Gold digipack edition, which includes both albums and The Fame artwork is used as the back cover. I have the EU version and there’s a US version with black discs.
