Part of Animal Crossing's success in 2020 was of course due to being stuck indoors during the pandemic, but it was also about the "trend" it had going on social media where anyone could be entertained and go and buy it. That won't be the case if the console supply is limited, and by the time stock is available the moment could have passed.
