Noah X 5,250
This news is really sad as a Britney fan.... it's equivalent to someone dying..... I wouldn't know what to do with my life if gaga came out one day and said "I'm never returning to the music industry" It's like she died and became an ordinary civilian Britney is no longer Britney the icon anymore, but Britney, the woman next door, wearing a white blouse and flip-flops
Sinfullota 300
This is a dark day in pop music. Stan her or hate her, she always brought that excitement and fresh new sounds to the table and made Pop music what it is today. Let's face it, without her absence, the scene has been very boring and uninspiring. If only Rihanna would put us out of our misery as well now. She’s probably working on something and taking her time with it to see if it’s worth making an album. She probably doesn’t want to be pressured into making something not up to her standards, it’d be her full vision for once since In The Zone and Blackout. I think she also had a lot of influence on Glory. I agree, I mean her statements are showing opposite sides. She already said she will abstain from the music industry before and then the Business song came. She says she's not gonna return to music industry, yet she is and has been ghostwriting songs for others. Ghostwriting songs is being part of the music world and some would say, music industry, too. I think we must distinguish between Britney's vision of a music industry and her vision of a music world. Music Industry could mean, having a producer to tell what she has to do to and when and how much (obligations, contracts, concerts, deadline). While music world just means anything with music, and here "fun aspect" and "no obligations" are key words. It does not rule out making new music! I think there might be a new album in future that does not fall under her definition of "music industry". "Never return to the music industry" might not necessarily be the same as "never make music again". But I could just be me and my wishful fan thinking I'm looking gorgeous tonight

Lucas 24,964
It kinda makes me sad to hear that from her but after everything she went through I can understand that she hates the music industry with all her guts. I hope she'll be able to differenciate the art of music and the industry of music. She could go independant and be 100% in charge of her career

When someone tries to manipulate me into doing something I already don't want to do, it makes me not want to do it even more. I'm in between jobs right now and I'm dreading going back to work because the industry I'm in is very fast paced, demanding, and draining. Toxic in some aspects as well. I can't imagine what she must feel after years of abuse and being in the spotlight.

I love Gaga to death, but her artistic side. If she ever decides to retire I would be more than happy for her
