Don't take anything she says seriously when it relates to things like this. She has announced that she is taking a break from social media many times, only to return the very next day.

Why do they all keep acting like making music is so hard compared to all of their other endeavors or the work that the rest of the world does on a daily basis. Especially these artists like her who have so much help from major writers/camps and producers  I’m the first to love Selena but I’m tired of these pop girls quitting/going obsolete

I remember when back in 1998 when Cher announced something similar and how sad I was about it… Then she released Belive. 
 

For Selena I could imagine it’s something she says to get out of her contract after that album or something like that.
