FfFfFfFF 58,120
Charlie Ottley, the documentary maker of "Flavors of Romania" series, claims that Oltenia and Romania deserve to be a must see destination in Europe. The British journalist aims to promote the Oltenia area under the mountain as a UNESCO geopark. Ottley was these days in the town of Costești in Vâlcea county. He claims that Romania should focus on "adventure tourism, wilderness and nature tourism". "Oltenia is for me one of the most interesting places in Romania. I spent a lot of time visiting the country to promote Transylvania, but ignoring other places that I consider equally beautiful. Of course, there are many things to see in Transylvania, but Romania is a country with different historical regions, and Oltenia and especially submontan Oltenia under the mountain is full of caves and the narrowest gorges in Europe, with history, legends and fabulous stories that go back to outlaws, Dacians and Romans. Therefore, I think that Oltenia has a lot to offer and I would like to see it become as important for national tourism as areas like Bucovina. (...) According to the cited source, Charlie Ottley first learned about "Oltenia under the mountain" seven years ago, when he filmed in Costeşti for the first episode of the Flavors of Romania series. Since then he has visited the places two more times, and in October he returned to make a promotional film for the area. dit 46,738
The more you post about Romania the more I think I want to retire there when I am older. I have ALWAYS wanted to live in eastern europe when I am old but now I think I am really considering Romania as the exact country I'd like to go and live my golden years in.
