This is what I've been saying in multiple threads here.

People are really not realizing how precarious the situation is for democrats when it comes to 2024. A super majority in the senate isn't a far fetched if republicans manage to flip Minnesota and Nevada. The map is already terrible for democrats. And even if they don't get a super majority, they'll get a majority comfortable enough to nuke the filibuster. 

And then you have the threat of a Trump comeback which appears more likely.

So, in case anyone cares, Senator Ben Cardin (one of my senators) was already retiring at the end of his term. His replacement will be elected in November 2024.

P.S. I don't think anyone cares about staffers unless they're acting on their bosses' orders (clearly not the case here).
