Bling 31,039
SO amazing that she did this majority of our community, especially the younger generation, takes the freedom of living out and gay for granted. They have no concept of what it was like before, and they treat older gay men like trash to be thrown away. Trust me, befriend an older gay man or woman. Aged 50, 60+ (if you can find one alive.) Their stories will completely change your life and outlook. https://discord.gg/hausofdelulu 4

A lot of them also simply overlook Madonna as a whole due to her age or attempts to snatch a radio hit in the last 10/15 years, rather than at least accepting the huge impact she made on gay culture appearing in mainstream media. All but one/two of my gay friends IRL see her as a has been and that nothing she did is really relevant anymore and it’s just like….WHAT Edited December 2, 2023 by TEANUS British social ladies with upturned pinkies, glasses clinking // xoxoTEANUS 3 1

And she has some unusual antics. But hey, I can't say if I were her I would do anything different. It's a shame though that it seems her artistic vision has been...clouded. I thought ROL and COADF were her most cohesive and important albums, and that she was going to continue to dominate for a long time. I do think ageism has some to do with it, but she also seems to have lost something that she once had. COADF was her last memorable era for me. I definitely enjoyed some parts of all of her albums, but the recent ones take more time to get used to. The auto tune thing is such an odd choice. Long rant, anyways. She will always be an icon and her work bringing queerness into the mainstream will never be forgotten, by those who experienced it anyway... https://discord.gg/hausofdelulu

Madonna did autotune on Music & COADF (not heavy but still) it's her artistic choice, she said in MadameX documentary that voices sounded robotic fascinating her. I actually like this effect, in Batuka (I absolutely love this song) for example, but if that bothers you... well blame Cher for make it mainstream 2
Evil R 1,084
It’s so sad that people taking this portion out of context and posting it all over the social media, gaining more attention than her speech. She’s right, the community takes it for granted

When she previously used it, it was very subtle and complimented her voice. Nowadays it takes away from her voice. When I first listened to Madame X it felt like an AI version of Madonna. I like a lot of songs from both Rebel Heart and Madame X, but it took me a while to get used to her...choices. https://discord.gg/hausofdelulu

Hmm, on Music & American Life are songs with a lot of autotune, just like on MadameX, but if you don't feel it, well you don't feel it.

As I said before, the auto tune she's used prior to 2015 complimented her voice. The most recent records it's been distracting. Moreso Madame X than Rebel Heart. Madame X, even though now after many listens I enjoy several songs, sounds like an AI version of Madonna. She uses that mumble rapper auto tune that sounds like one of those voice distorting kids phones from the 90s. Also, my take is not revolutionary. It's quite common. Shared by members here and on critics' reviews of her albums. DopeEnigma 859
Such important words, she is so right, many take it for granted and are inwardly judgemental, we need to do better!
