What proof do we have that Troy can veto the release of unreleased music

I doubt it has anything to do with Troy.

Unpopular opinion: I don't think Gaga "wants" to release ARTPOP, even if some fans want it. It was a difficult time for her, and her worst reviewed album. Also, the sound now would be dated....my guess is critics would hate it even if fans love it.

I think she appreciates the love, but doesn't want to release it. She's never promised anything or even hinted at releasing it after 2013...-only DJWS. But fans will get angry at her.

Meanwhile Taylor Swift is releasing 15 year old unreleased tracks. If nobody was listening to ARTPOP nobody would care that Act 2 isn't happening. Yet it's been a consistent conversation for the past 10 years. And I don't think it's a vocal minority either.

Not that he vetos it but that the legal stuff is not worth it to Gaga to put energy or effort at this point (and her label probably doesn't see money in it for them)

That's what I have understood about it from people who seem like they would know

The only legal issue I see is the possibility that Gaga would want the release to count towards her album count (which would possibly end her contract). But really it would be an EP at most and wouldn't count. Anything actually legal regarding Troy could just go through Bobby and her team and she'd have final say. I doubt the label doesn't see value in it. Dawn of Chromatica must have been so much more expensive to produce simply because of the amount of people involved. Miley Cyrus was able to record an album with $60,000, I find it hard to believe they couldn't finish demos for less.

That's a v v good point. I also think we never know the plans that are already in place. By this point in time an entire era could be mapped out with detailed plans for all we know. Artists managers are planning their careers 3, 4 years ahead sometimes. We never know what's round the corner

bestie a full blown era would be lovely with all the bells and whistles but i think that ship has sailed. maybe the new gaga isn't for you and that's okay

Ikr, like I said before, I still like her stuff but I don’t stan her anymore, she had everything to become legendary :( what a waste of creativity

See I think she's already legendary. I actually think Bobby has managed her career so skillfully since he took over from Troy. The moment she split from Troy, her career was at a crossroads where she would either become a long lasting legend or a legacy artist a bit like katy perry or Kesha (amazing as they are). Bobby encouraged the move into Jazz, the Hills are alive performance at the Oscars (i haven't got a ****ing clue what that song is called haha)....even as recently as the BTW 10th anniversary celebrations - they're all designed, in my opinion at least, to show her as an artist that has real potential, staying power and legacy - this is an industry veteran that will be around forever.

Yeah that’s true, I think she could’ve had a better team during that time, she’s a very talented and creative artist.
Let’s see what she has prepared for her next album, I like your objectivity tho.:holdmyhand:

I hope so, because with Chromatica she started with the laziness again, It’s like she does things by halves, I know about all the COVID situation  but Chromatica was the perfect era to use all the technology on her side and to have a real era like she used to do in the past.

I think we have to accept it seems like her music career is not her main goal anymore. It's not laziness, it's a choice of what to put her energy to

I’m tired of fans trying to justify Gaga’s laziness, especially with ARTPOP saying that it was a dark time for her, I don’t buy that story.

I mean, she’s in a very privileged position, she’s MILLIONAIRE, she could literally hire the best psychologists and psychiatrists in the world to treat her mental issues, a lot of people don’t have that chance and they move forward. She’s just lazy and selfish, she knows what her fans want and decides to give a f, the Gaga I fell in love with would’ve done something special for her fans on this day, not this generic artist she became.

Or maybe, just maybe, the fact that she has access to all of that and it’s *still* triggering to her might let you know that it was pretty intense for her?
