Also really disappointed in the lyrics. I thought the "Houdini" theme would be incorporated in a far more interesting and clever way, but it feels so shoehorned in. I think this was a major missed opportunity to talk about something more unique/deeper than the surface level "Girl in the club, can the guy get her?" story they went with. I know it's a pop song and a lead single, but still, there wasn't anything more meaty they wanted to talk about with a duality/ephemerality theme? Couldn't have added a little more umph into the chorus? Added a bridge? Really anything to spice this up – again, it's bewildering how such a technically well-done song feels so underwhelming and predictable. This sounds like a single she'd release to promote Future Nostalgia re-issue along with the few tracks we got. And then with that Barbie song. She still teased Houdini with "Miss me?"
