Point remains- remixing a song to boost its performance is nothing new so idk why you’re implying the industry is only NOW going to sh*t. These tactics predate the current music industry landscape of streaming and tiktok. Katy perry remixed ET and and last Friday night so she could keep her teenage dream #1 hit string going ~10 years ago.

This is so tiresome and uninteresting. This is what the music industry has turned into. Sad sad sad.

Just few months ago around this time, we were doing the same. Rallying Bloody Mary to get the #1 on BB100, thinking it will be a justice to BTW album. To no avail, cos not many of the fanbase supporting the movements. 

It's easy to be bitter, and harder to rise above that. So let's not be hypocrites, besides, it's Swifties very strong love to TS that get this song to #1. And shows TS is still pretty much an ambitious musician 10 years in, it's been awhile since..., well, Madonna, who keep the fire lit in her even after awhile bing in the industry. For that alone, we need to at least give her some well deserved respect.

So if it is a gift, it's a gift from them to her and her to them. They are very dedicated fanbase, probably something to learn the next time Gaga putting out a record, instead of putting on the critical hat, and "I'm above you" attitude, start putting out the time and the coins for her.

tysm for this, like for real. i love gaga but i also love taylor and i dont get the double standard of these two like exactly all of this when bloody mary came out i was all about getting it to number 1 but we kinda fumbled that bag rly hard, but when it comes to giving taylor the same treatment and winning its met with a dismissive glare and its like why 

taylor has gone through so much heartbreak and turmoil that she deserves a little praise and credit every now and then uwu

This song went #1 because of a new EP containing a remix and a single version. Yes, she released a single version to this song and had everything discounted. So this wasn't "just because". And don't act like this wasn't desperate. 

And Willow and Cardigan were two songs that absolutely didn't deserve to go #1 but did because of the same reason. At least Cruel Summer is a hit but let's not act like it's an organic #1.

This giving Taylor a pass when we all know how the Swifties themselves are making fun and mocking Gaga's discounts is beyond atrocious. Ya'll just celebrate this woman but the Swifties aren't celebrating Gaga and are mocking her for being desperate for hits with Ariana, discounts etc.

No, she's not lol. Gaga had more dominance at a time when listening to an album privately at home didn't count towards the hot 100 and had 11 STRAIGHT top 10 hits without the need of remixes and discounts. 

Taylor's song was discounted and she put out two new versions of this song. Gaga would've had a #1 had she done the same with Stupid Love. 

And please. Michael Jackson and The Beatles were dominant in every country and every place without discounts and remixes, while Taylor is weaker than Adele and Gaga during their peak in markets like France, Japan, Poland, Germany and Spain. 

This narrative of her being the new Michael Jackson is just worth a drag or two at this point lol.

Anti-Hero" has now spent 1 full year on the Hot 100. It becomes her first song to reach this milestone.

I would consider Cruel Summer an organic #1. It was already leading in early predictions and the remixes just widened that lead. It has solid radio support and streaming numbers. You’re acting as if the song was gonna be #10 but then the remixes came and shot it straight to #1. No, the movie brought it a lot of attention and then her team was smart enough to ensure that #1, like a lot of artists do.

I know these tactics already existed. But I feel Taylor exploits the use of them. And that is what makes me think she looks desperate.

The difference is, Gaga didnt release remixes and versions of Bloody Mary so it could chart better and get to number 1. She let it be. And I feel that is more organic and respectable than inflating the actual consumption of a song.

It gets really boring when some of you mention bitterness. We have been through this already. Nothing about being bitter. I do not wish for Gaga to have this kind of artificial success. In 10 years time, the general public might remember less than half of those #1 hits Taylor has (in my opinion). And I think that will happen because they didnt become organic hits that were actually heavily consumed by the general public. I'd rather have Gaga remain with her very momerable 5 #hits, which were real hits that were everywhere on radio and social media, and are still relevant.

1 remix and 1 live version after the song has been hanging in the top 10 completely on it’s own without a single ounce of effort extended by her or her team to push it for almost three months with absolutely zero push. Fans all but demanded she do something so she did. You’re acting like there are a million different versions of the song available and there isn’t. There’s 3 including the one that’s been smashing 100% organically since March. 

Are artists just not supposed to promote a song? Like do we want all artists to just drop tracks and whatever happens happens? The way people complain about the girls not wanting it anymore you’d think someone actually trying—and I say trying loosely as this “push” from Taylor was minimal at best—would finally be satisfactory.

And this is the real issue a lot of GGD has with “Taylor”.

It has nothing to do with the woman herself (a woman who’s never said a bad word against Gaga mind you), and everything to do with Little Monsters not being able to tolerate their grown, nearly 40 year old fave who has absolutely nothing left to prove and has ascended to every peak imaginable to anyone and doesn’t give a flying **** who drags her getting some shade on Twitter. 

Hating an artist for every breath they take simply because some of their fans (and I say SOME because as evidenced by the screams and cheers Applause gets at the Eras Tour, most Swifties also like Gaga) simply out of being defensive over someone who doesn’t need defending because of some shady comments online they’ll never see is a little insane.
