This whole situation is going to perfectly demonstrate the complete lack of nuance that exists on this subject. It's all been made to be black and white when none of it is. 

The root cause of all of this is the nation of Israel's--the masterminds and leaders behind that is--decades long occupation of territory they've no right to. That is a fact, and that fact won't change.

It is also a fact that this action on the part of Hamas is stepping over a line in a big and indisputable way. Regardless of the nation they hail from, at the end of the day, Hamas is still a terrorist organization. It just so happens they fight on behalf of a nation that needs defending, but they are still terrorists. I don't think it's okay what's being done to innocent citizens. I don't think the actions of Hamas are something to be celebrated or praised. 

Hamas will get their day of reckoning. They're oppressing Palestinians as well. They're no heroes to Palestine, and anyone who tries to frame them as such is overly blinded by their feelings toward Israel's atrocities. As with many conflicts around the world, you're going to find that both sides have indefensible actions to atone for. But you will also find that one side is the oppressed and one side is the oppressor. 

The nation of Israel's government, and the agencies who carry out the evil deeds the government dictates is the latter.

Hamas is doing wrong, and i don't think many will argue otherwise. Israel is still the aggressor and give out as bad or worse as they receive, unprovoked, and on citizens same as this. Both statements can be and are true. The propaganda that will stem from this will try and say otherwise. The use of unequal counter action will be justified with a twisting of history and facts. But none of that changes the facts as they stand. 

All in all, I express my sympathies to those who're in the middle of something they don't deserve. Innocent people on either side of this do not deserve it, especially when so many of them share the common dream of this ending. I wish it could end sooner, and more importantly I wish it could end peacefully. I'm thinking of anyone here who may be from Israel and anyone here who may be from Palestine. I'm sorry that those in charge think so little of you and your rights to safety and prosperity. i'm sorry you have to get used as pawns in these kinds of games.

Hopefully someday, we can see this brought to an end and everyone who has to answer for what they've done is made to.

I know this is really naive and probably inappropriate to say but can’t we all just get along?? Russia/Ukraine, Azerbaijan/Armenia, Israel/Palestine, Serbia/Kosovo, Western Africa, China/Taiwan… there’s just too much conflict and violence everywhere

The same actions that you are talking have lead to tragic murders and will lead to more tragic murders because this is just the start! no one voted this government expecting any of this to happen, i can gaurantee you that. What happened to your mother is a truly tragic thing, but you can't tell me any people (citizens) of the right wing deserve this to happen to them, they are human before they have a political stand.  your words are powerful, and your wishes are cruel, this situation is not comfortable for all parties involved. yes, the government is hell, but no citizen regardless of a politlcal stand deserves to be stripped away of their humanity like this.

It’s beautiful to imagine but Israel is a very corrupt global tyrant and the persecution of the Palestinian people can only begin to heal when they have their rightful land(s) back

I'm not pro any side! I'm pro peace! i have spoken about my sadness and prayers for the palestinians in this forum more than once, and criticized my country's treatment to palestinians. both sides are inhumane.

the conflict is much beyond land at this point, it's about treatment, so i think the very first step would be more about treatment than land

It just hasn’t been something Israel seems to concerned about. Netanyahu leads a very tight organization with only one or two main plays. We would need to see someone else decide these things
