That's so disrespectful!!!  He is such a nice person I can't even imagine what the **** was going through that person's brain to do something disrespectful like that and in a public environment full of cameras. Orville must have been embarrassed and nervous the rest of the night.

I feel like people who form intense Parasocial relationships with celebrities often take on the offense of whatever that said celebrity is going through. It’s quite strange and isn’t anyone’s burden except the person it happened to. Stan and cancel culture in a nutshell is weird.

i mean its a reflection of your [their] personality if you think its ok to do that and i dont want them anywhere near the public eye. we've seen how inappropriate behavior spirals

there's a difference between the spontaneous, sometimes stupid things we do and 'who we are'. Doing something questionable does not make your soul bad. 

Who we are is also subject to constant change and evolution as we learn new things every day, and decide what to integrate and be made better by. 

Judging celebrities as role models, especially when anyone is a celebrity these days, including kids like Lil Nas X, is collapsing the Jenga as you're building it. There is almost an unsaid expectation that society is curating our role models for us by choosing who to make famous, when this simply isn't the case. You can be your own judge of what people become a moral compass to you. This has nothing to do and should not affect a pop singer's profession which is making music.

 

There should be a teachable moment, yes, not necessarily a 'cancel him' moment. Cancel culture is indeed hilarious
