Doja Cat's Scarlet debuts at #5 in the UK

Doja Cat earns her second UK Top 5 album with Scarlet, debuting at Number 5 with 6,076 units on the Official Albums Chart. The record becomes Doja’s second Top 5 LP. It follows 2021’s Planet Her (3), becoming her third Top 40 album to date. Hot Pink provided Doja her first Official Albums Chart entry in 2019 (38).

Doja Cat secures a straight month at Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart with Paint the Town Red.  It notionally received a boost from the release of a CD single – its first physical format – and parent album Scarlet, consumption of Paint The Town Red dipped for the third straight week, falling 2.50% to 48,890 units (559 CDs, 1,076 digital downloads, 47,255 sales-equivalent streams).

It's crazy PTTR has been #1 for 4 weeks but she didn't secure that #2 spot behind Kylie.

Reason why Joanne debuted with 201K units in US even when PI flopped and MR wasn't a smash hit until SB, meaning no hit or viral song. ARTPOP had Applause, Chromatica had ROM and Sour Candy (Blackpink's power), but Joanne has nothing of that sort.... that's why Joanne 200k units are more impressive than Chromatica's 274k or ARTPOP's 258k.
