From the artist that just wants fair pay for artists? Neverrrrr

Taylor Swift herself has done to others what Olivia did to her. She's nothing to brag about supporting. Do some research.

when??

Thinking Out Loud sounds nearly identical to Let's Get It On. The "nearly" part was what saved his butt but here in regards to Olivia we're talking about a small fraction of the song that Snaklor is taking an absolute gross and disgusting 50% of.

it was chord progression and you can't copyright it. Ed decided that his case would go to trial instead of giving any percentage of his work because he did not copy anything and the court agreed with him. Olivia could have done the same instead of giving them 50%.

Imagine taking 50% royalties from a new artist on the block despite being such a mega star :rip:

Olivia offered them, Taylor didn’t request them. Olivia offered the credits when this started going viral on social media. Jack Antonoff confirmed that they didn’t know they were getting credited until everything was already in motion.

All this is is social media again trying to make women be enemies and they’re succeeding because no one is bothering to actually look into what really happened.

They want narrative, not the truth.

Someone is f*cking with this girl because paragraphs down it says:

Vampire is primarily about a romantic relationship with an older guy, and Rodrigo says the crescendoing rock opera mirrors her burgeoning revelations about being manipulated.

Why that is not in the same paragraph as this bit about Taylor I do not know.

//

also in terms of the cruel summer/deja vu stuff, Olivia and Taylor seemed to be fine with Taylor gifting her a ring that was that same as what she wore when she was writing og Red, that was in early 2021. They then met in May of 2021 at the Britt awards, Deja Vu was released a month before in April and all seemed to be fine. Olivia said in  July 2021 that Cruel Summer inspired Deja Vu and gave the credit where it was due (50% does seem like a lot but idk how the music industry works). However after that Taylor and Olivia basically stopped interacting.

If I had to guess what happened I would say Olivia was not that happy about the cut Taylor was given (fair) and then that was further exasperated by swifties who consistently has been dragging Olivia's name through the mud. Olivia was pretty consistent with talking about Taylor as an inspiration especially in those first few months after drivers license but swifties were really dragging Olivia past what was acceptable and it became exhausting to see even just as someone who is a fan of them both, can only imagine what it was like for Olivia. So she stopped talking about Taylor at all, then she was getting dragged for not mentioning Taylor anymore but to a much lesser extent and limited to swifties. And now we are here and they don't acknowledge each other aside from this article which is a mess:vegas:

Yeah, I don't think they are actively feuding or even dislike one another, but I think Olivia was/is understandably kind of annoyed about a) the credit and b) the percentage. And I feel like she's probably kind of irritated that people keep asking her about it and it pops up on twitter, when Vampire is very clearly about a creepy older guy preying on Olivia when she was barely legal.

Exactly, I think they are just neutral at this point and swifties are just being annoying lmao

It's a valuable lesson for her either way starting out. Here for many more original songs from her instead!

Then you decline the offer when it's literally just one line in a bridge that the girl who offers clearly meant as an homage.

The way you try to defend Taylor. She should've said "50% for that little line from one of my fans? Hell no". Even 22% is too much.

How can you defend this in any way?

Olivia's song is original. There's only one line that sounds like Cruel Summer:

Absolutely pathetic and gross of Taylor.

I still don't get the admiration for Taylor when she's shown indirectly again and again how much of a stuck up and pathetic person she is. Taking 50% from a brand new artist that's your fan when it's a little part in the bridge is just gross and turns me completely off on her personality.

Why are some of you so okay with supporting a woman who supposedly WALKED AWAY from buying her masters until someone bought them to play the victim and claim it's because of anything BUT money and charts. How about we go back to her having the audacity to mock Joe Jonas for breaking up with her in five seconds over the phone when it's been confirmed the only reason it was five seconds was because SHE hung up on him. That small detail showed how utterly manipulative that woman is. She had no problem with a derogatory term when Kanye called her ("I feel like Taylor OWES me sex") yet had a problem with him saying "I made that bitch famous" when it's the same fvcking thing. Then the Katy Perry thing and her recent relationship. She's giving me such bad vibes. It's like she manipulates others just so she can play the victim and create a premise for a new era and album.

I still think Taylor is gross for that. They do not sound like copyright infringement comparable tracks. I am a fan of her music. But she is, indeed, the anti-hero, and is overly competitive, fame, and money hungry.

But I also don't think "vampire" has anything to do with her.

I mean Olivia literally said she sampled New Year’s Day and Taylor gave the go ahead but Olivia didn’t credit…which if I’m not mistaken you have to. It’s more of a legal issue than anything
