As for why she exclusively records more “tame” versions. Honestly I bet it’s 1) brand recognition. She’s known for dance pop and chromatica needed to be a return to that and 2) it’s easier to sing live than what she’s actually capable of. I feel like it’s still like omg it’s THE lady Gaga doing that other thing we really like bc her voice is so so good! I think the separation of lady and Gaga is still very strong, basically.
