Is Taylor Swift the only major pop artist to peak in her 30s and not 20s?

major pop artist = defined as = world wide known super pop star with heavily played music in mainstream media who has been (co-)dominating a period of time ahead of other artists, can be brief or long

It is widely agreed upon that 2023 is the peak year for Taylor Swift, the height of her career ( https://i-d.vice.com/en/article/k7z3wa/taylor-swift-eras-tour-2023 ).

Is Taylor Swift the only female major pop artist to peak in her 30s and not 20s or even teenage years? (This topic is not about male singer)

And if not, is she the oldest to peak in her 30s - she is in her mid-30s now?

Britney had her peak in early 20s, Gaga in mid-20s, Katy in late 20s, Rihanna during her 20s, Miley as an actress during her teenage years while as a singer during her 20s, Selena during her 20s, Avril in her early 20s. They all declined in relevance during their 30s and never returned to their past maximum glory.

Taylor Swift is an exception to this rule. She is peaking now in her mid-30s. She went from super big to mega big.

I think this is remarkable and deserves a discussion topic.

I'm looking gorgeous tonight

No actually, the height of Madonna's career was from 1989 to 1991 when she was in her early 30s. This is the one example I can think of off the top of my head and I am sure there are others.

I'd say Shakira, JLo and maybe Madonna have all hit their own career peaks later in life too

Madonna was 31/32 when Like a Prayer/The Immaculate Collection were released.

Kylie was 32/33 when Light Years/Fever were released

Beyonce was 32 when Self-Titled was release

Ray of light happened when Madonna was 40 and sold over 14 million making it one of the most successful eras ever for an artist arguably a repeak of her career.

you can argue ASIB in Gaga’s early 30s was a re peak as well with shallow becoming her 2nd biggest hit in her career.

Is there no fan page for Taylor Swift fans? I don't hate her, but there is at least one new thread about her every day on ggd. :alsemanche:

Depends on how you define peak, but I'd argue Beyonce hit hers with Lemonade (big seller, was a cultural milestone, etc.). She was 35 when the album came out. And this isn't a popular opinion on here, but Shallow/ASIB era was arguably a bigger peak than Gaga's 2009-2011 era (even if it was for a shorter time period). IMO the only difference is Gaga did a ton of press in 2009-2011 versus 2018. Shallow was a pop cultural reference in 2018-2019 with the GP in the US, at least, and even is somewhat today. If I recall correctly, it's also Gaga's best selling track.

As other said, Madonna's biggest peak was in her early 30s, too. While Kylie has never been huge in the US, she had massive success in the UK/Europe/Australia in her mid to late 30s.

I will say there is A LOT of ageism in pop music.

Whats the deal with the random Taylor Swift threads every single day unrelated to even any news about her?

What's wrong with it?

Gaga is asleep currently, and Taylor is one of the topic people can discuss right now since she is on tour, releasing music and broke records left and right.
