Do you agree with Taylor being the best at re-inventing herself?

There is literally no difference in anything she does...she is just good at marketing.

I do yes. She does it at a great speed too. So kudos to her for being able to pull it off and sustain, and grow, her fan base. Not sure for how long before people had enough and moved on, but she will never lose her loyal fans I think.

1989 - Reputation - Lover - folklore were big jumps in style and music. Midnights is not as big a change, but she has reinvented herself plenty of times with great commercial and critical success.

Yaaaas Gaga

I think she re-invents herself in terms of her music, however some one like Gaga re-invents her art so it's a lot more distinct and visual.

i don't really know but she's working hard and i have respect for her.

Like at first..... She was like avril lavigne's girl scout version (we r never never never ---)

but 'when we are young they assume u know nothing' and snow on the beach are so good.

I mean anyone saying she hasn't reinvented her sound is wrong. She's definitely had 3 maybe 4 main eras. Country radio darling up until Speak Now, pop girl for Red & 1989 then returned to with Lover, her reputation era which I'd say Midnights Taylor is most similar too & her lockdown cottagecore era.

The thing is the Eras tour works so well because of how dedicated her fans are and how she still has a major chokehold on the GP. I don't think at the moment that any other pop artist could pull off the same level of pop culture domination as the Eras Tour because no one as big as Taylor has that level of chokehold on album sales, streaming, tours & the media. Like even major political magazines in the UK are talking about the Eras tour when she hasn't even been yet. That's a weird level of media magnetism.

I think plenty of big pop acts could pull off a greatest hits tour & probably (depending on health etc) pull off a 30+. I doubt anyone else atm could pull off a tour like the Eras tour though where half the set is album deep cuts without putting off casual fans. Like look at how the casuals responded to deep cuts like Monster at TCB

I agree that in her personal aesfhetic her eras are not as distinct. Visually, they are beginning with 1989. From then on there is a definable aesthetic to every era.

In sound, you’re either being purposefully obtuse or simply haven’t listened to her beyond singles if you say her albums sound the same. The only ones that sound close are debut and Fearless and I guess Folklore and Evermore but the latter is by design.

Speak Now and Red sound nothing alike. Red and 1989 don’t. 1989 and Rep don’t. Rep and Lover don’t. Folkmore and Lover don’t. Midnights and Folkmore don’t. Her sound changes every cycle and has for over a decade.

I wouldn't call changing boyfriends "reinvention" :billie:

When is this gross and genuinely bottom tier, lazy, junk drawer, lowest common denominator drag going to go away? It isn’t cute, it isn’t funny, and it’s especially outdated. She has not dated anymore than any other celebrity and hell most normal people have. It’s really time to grow up and move on from this one.

I think that for a very uninteresting person she has been successful and making herself seem interesting.

Did she ever reinvented herself?

Maybe not really...she went from cute country singer too cute pop girl and visited the bad pop girl for like two days.

But that doesn't make her the best at reinventing.

Especially when most of her songs are about break ups and only break ups. That's make her more a one trick pony than a master of reinvention.

She's extremely good at telling a story whit her lyrics and the music is easy to listen too. Shes unproblematic and People can relate to her music pretty easy and that's why she's famous.
