I've been watching the new Heartstopper season and only have two episodes left. I absolutely love this season, just like the first one. This show is truly special. I also ordered the first three comic books in this lovely new hardback edition.

 Alice Oseman and the entire cast of the show are angels.

I binge watched s2 on thursday with my sisters and it was soooooooo cute  such nice storylines and it was good to see many of the characters evolving

I looooooveeeee Nick, but who doesnt tbh. Really excited for S3.

my sisters read all the comics so Im going to do the same lol since they gave me a huge spoiler and I want to avoid that in the future

I'm halfway through season 2 and it's so good 

Tao is still the most annoying character  It's so strange because I can't tell if it's intentional because all the friends in the group never call him out on his annoyingness? Is it something that isn't being translated well from the book? Every time I think I might start liking him, he ruins it by being rude to Nick, painfully insecure and possessive over Elle, or just generally obnoxious.

Hmm I actually like Tao for that… he did evolve tho from S1, so it was good to see him becoming less possesive over Elle towards S2. But I def do get where he comes from + he explains it in S2 when he talks about his dad to Nick, so it all makes sense…

+ I feel like we can’t forget these are 15-16yo’s so it’s quite realistic imo

I watched the entire season when it came out and on one hand I cringed at so many moments but on the other hand I think this show is so so sweet and I love that today’s teens can watch a show like this  I also love that it’s not a homosexual relationship between two males where it’s all just about sex or where it becomes very toxic (I love u Elite, but I’m looking at u )

It’s just a super sweet show and it makes me so happy

That's true that they are meant to be kids. I haven't gotten to that scene you're talking about  but the scene with his mother was very touching.

In the first episode Nick says like 1 sentence about Elle and Tao rattles off like 4 rude sentences and then storms off. Was it that serious?  

When he completely loses it after seeing Elle's new friends in the tent I was so disgusted  I get that he's a flawed character but he has to be likable too?? The balance of those two things is way off for me. 

When they're in Paris, Tao says a random comment about feeling like he's being electrocuted when he's talking to Nick (paraphrasing) and Charlie is right there but everyone laughs it off..

 

I was like why does no one care to resolve Tao's strange problem with Nick? Why doesn't Charlie speak up and say "I'd love you two to be friends, what is the issue Tao?? Because Nick is always nice to you?" Instead no one commented on it!! I feel like I'm being gaslit 

Maybe the problem is I never felt a good foundation was established with Tao. Like in season 1 he was annoying right off the bat so I never got the chance to be on his side. Whereas, if any other likable character started getting annoying now, I would give them the benefit of the doubt. But with Tao it feels like 70% of his screen time has always been ick.

I get what you’re saying! I agree that Tao was annoying in S1, cause he was so possessive but as someone mentioned, they’ll pick it up in S2 and he’ll briefly mention why he is like that. And to me, that explanation actually made a lot of sense. 

I have to say that I think they made him likeable in S1 though. His scenes with Elle were really cute and whenever he had his short altercations with Harry, he was really funny

Hahaha I get what you mean but I feel like most of the time it’s meant in a more comedic way when he reacta like that - or at least I find it finny bcs it’s THAT dramatic. 

I’m sure this is just all part of his journey to become the amazing character he’s supposed to be

+ I think that Charlie and the rest KNOW how Tao is, and that’s why theyre “ok” with it? Because they know it’s just him processing things

I recently noticed on my laptop that when creating a comment, you can double-click the uploaded picture while still editing your comment. Then the edit options appear, allowing you to adjust the picture's size and alignment. You're welcome.
