NCgaga 4,345
In a way, This Is humbling experience for Paris. People love to drag America for every little thing, but romaticize the **** out of Paris and other European cities when they in fact have some very dirty and grimes sections of all the major cities. With that being said, the culture, food, and architecture of France is and has always been very influential and beautiful. The architecture of Paris is out of this world, and American food would taste like British food if it weren’t for the influence of French cuisine. He purposely painted Paris as a whole as stinky and ghetto, and that certainly isn’t true. You can highlight the best touristy spots of any city and also highlight the worst parts of any city. He just chose to concentrate on the worst spots and use them to represent the city as a whole.

The things he's showing in the video, you can find this 'side of the city' in about every other big city. That's just what they look like as well. Same! Paris is great. One of my favourite memories of Paris is when my bf and me went there together for the first time and because of budget reasons we stayed in a cheap motel outside of the boulevard périphériquen in the 13. Arrondissement. We went into a small restaurant there very unsure as obviously every other customer was not a tourist. We had our first tajine there and the owner explained to us how mint tea is consumed in the Maghreb. This is Paris and if you want to see the Sacre Cœur and the Eiffel Tower only and without people, pigeons and trash, then you should probably stay at home and watch a movie about Paris. Up until very recently America wasn't even seen that way by many Europeans. They also believed the movies and thought the US was a perfect place. Listening to people say they want to visit the US because of x reason, only for me to mention some truly shocking things to them has always been interesting. I've only seen the Paris airport and that experience itself has made me wanna stay out of France. It's not worth flying into personally, and it'd be hard to have fun afterwards. LaLuna 12,732
Meh, I still wanna go someday. I mean, is it overrated and overhyped? Probably. But it's still one of the most culturally and historically rich cities on the planet, with some of the most iconic landmarks. That's gotta count for something. I do 100% believe Parisians are a$$holes though
