Plenty of mystery to how she is famous tbh.

On a serious note, this is pretty much a carbon copy of what Gaga said in the The Fame (Monster) era and I think she's been successful at bringing at back. Today there are quite some adored superstars who play with privacy and being public no?

I've watched some performance of hers at The Voice or something like that, where the judge didn't recognize her and didn't even know who Rita Ora was atm. It was kinda sad, but I've never been a fan of her so whatever. I wish her well.

It’s not as monumental as say Michael appearing in the public after months/years

we will never have another Michael Jackson

I've often thought about an MJ level star in the age of social media and I just can't see it :traumatica:

Like, his interview with Oprah in the 1990s was the most widely viewed interview in history simply because everyone knew next to nothing about the man himself other than his music, videos, and dancing.

In an era where you can reliably know what today's celebrities eat for dinner every night, that's gone and it'll never come back :bradley:

Eh, she’s not wrong. This kind of thing still happens sure, but not to the same scale.

When was the last time you saw literally hundreds or fans swarming a car, running along side it, multiple people fainting, etc.

Battle 4 Ur Life

because that idea was stupid to begin with?

artists are 100% human. obviously when they’re extraordinarily gifted they’re usually famous but this supposed “mistery” is just a projection from fans.

I honestly don’t really care what happens at their private life because I have my own?

I also think the ecosystem of fame is just different now. Now, there's not really an environment that would give a figure that insane type of mystery and fame.

She only said that because she is probably still mad that people caught her not following safety protocols during covid and posting it on social  media :ororomunroe:

Of course there still are some celebrities that can inspire that kind of reaction from people, but she has a point. Those kind of stars are becoming few and far between and the amount of them has drastically declined over the years, and the accessibility to them via social media probably plays a part in that. It's one of the reasons why it could be argued that Gaga being more distant with her social media isn't necessarily a bad thing, because it creates more of a mystique around her which adds to her public image.

"“You have Instagram, TikTok, and it’s up to you how much you share, but if you’re not connected, people are like, ‘Who do you think you are?”’ stated the TV personality."

This is very true. We can see it in here daily when Gaga gets dragged by her own fans for that.

I'd rather stan someone I can truly see how they're like with all their qualities and defects like any human being than a mysterious demigod cult leader figure that rises into public eye every now and then causing havoc among the masses

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

I don't think it's mystery more that celeb culture just isn't as popular as it used to me. People used to treat celebs like gods, I honestly think it's a good thing that society has for the most part moved on from that.

That man is dead 14 years and I still have goosebumps everytime I see him. Especially when I watch some live performances of my fave songs.

I still cry hearing him sing “One thing in life you must understand…” :bradley:

I grew up listening to him! One of my first memories is of watching the HIStory Tour's televised show in 1997 and wearing out that VHS learning how to pop, lock, and slide like he did for "Stranger in Moscow" :bradley: then I got a little older, life got a little harder, and I found an enormous sense of comfort and love in songs like "Will You Be There" (still my favorite song ever) and the ET Story Book vinyl (narrated by MJ with two versions of the song "Someone in the Dark" :bradley:). It genuinely felt like I was friends with him sometimes. Some kids had imaginary friends, I had MJ lmao.

He was very human but his icon status...every pop star alive today is standing in his shadow :bradley:

And YES "In the Closet" is a goddamn BOP :cryga:

Arguably Rita Ora is a bigger star than Michael was at his peak
