Ariana Grande) 911 My personal favorite is Rain On Me, it’s amazing, especially the scenes of Gaga dancing on the rooftop! I love the scenery in the music video and it fits the song amazingly IMO. Felt very new and fresh yet still GAGA. 911 is my least fave from her entire career. Cool concept but bad execution. Stupid Love gave me that early internet punk DIY feel a lot of Gaga’s pre fame videos had (Don’t Give Up, Starstruck, Pop Ate My Heart Interlude, Judas Microsoft Word Phone Pic Cover Art). It felt like I was watching a 90s action hero tv show which was a great way to introduce the world of Chromatica. Rain On Me had so much subtle visual story telling that relate to Gaga and Chromatica meanwhile 911 was so obviously a concept Tarsem had (gaga didn’t get into a car accident lol). RoM had the dagger on her hip (obvious), Nails on her face (face pain from fibromyalgia), raining daggers (fibromyalgia), left on the ground (when she got r***d and was left on the ground) The end where she’s reveals that she’s connected to some machine and the MV was a representation of what’s going on in her brain and the rain was literally her tears (mental health and chromatica main theme). 911 literally felt messy. Some parts look like one of those fan made music videos with a good budget. Especially that scene when she got stabbed. Everybody looked cramped and the lighting + composition was just cheap.
