Yeah and I’ve said multiple times before that if Kim apologized for working with him and ditched him entirely, I would proudly take back what I said and will start supporting the girl. I literally never said I wanted her career to end, I just think the backlash she is currently getting is 100% justifiable.

and ARTPOP was literally 10 years ago, my ass didn’t know how much harm gaga was doing! I was a ****ing high school teenager ffs, but as a grown adult I know realize that Gaga should’ve had a hell of a lot more backlash for her actions. Hindsight is 20/20 after all lol

Not to jump in on you guys. But I think a big factor that gets left out when discussion on Kim happens is it ignores that Lukes track record is one of manipulation, gaslighting and abuse. Not to mention weaponizing the law against anyone who speaks ill of him publicly. We don’t know what the actual extent of their work relationship is, we don’t know what the story she was told when she met him.

I’m not going to make an argument for “Kim is a victim too” because that would be ludicrous right now. But I advocate for benefit of the doubt for her. She is a trans immigrant who is a mainstream pop star. Getting to that point was not one that offered as many opportunities as other “easy” to market pop girls. We know Luke still is just as terrible to his artists and takes advantage due to Doja slipping up. And she is an A-list star and still faces consequences and is forced to retract her statements about him even when they’re vague. (Which we have seen Kim post really depressing things about her feelings of her label and also was forced to take them back and lie and say it was about something else).

So, with all that being said. If Kim despises Luke. If he does nothing and just gets a production credit slapped on. If she believes he is 100% guilty of everything at this point. She can’t say anything. She never could. She was never “independent” - a publishing deal is still a legal deal, it’s essentially being signed to a label without the financial support for marketing an album and being given a team to develop her brand. So from day one she always has had to present those that are above her in a favorable light. If we’re lucky maybe years down the line she can speak publicly - but given how Luke used Kesha to make a public example to scare anyone else from speaking - even that’s unlikely. Unless he is dead, nobody will be able to speak freely about him without fear of repercussions. That is why artists like Kim, Doja, Saweetie, Latto and a few others deserve some level of benefit of the doubt.
