qoqo 3,178
I’ve been a hardcore Lana Stan since 2012 all these years it felt like she’s been severely underrated by the gp outside of stan twitter, her shows were always relatively small, even with the critical success of nfr it felt like she’s not huge in streaming etc Suddenly in the past year or so she’s making crazy numbers on Spotify being one of the top 10 most listened artists consistently above other huge names, now she’s selling out a stadium in Mexico all this seemingly without any reason? I mean some of her unreleased songs went viral on TikTok but that’s it? There’s zero promo on her behalf for years i mean I’m not complaining but…how? dimitristhe 1,545
It’s simple. Talent won. When we're not together tell me everything's gonna be alright
Sneaky Oliver 21,256
I think she has both loyal stans and a lot of casual listeners. That’s probably why she performs in festival very often because part of her audience comes from non-hardcore fans. She also had a couple of viral moments on Tiktok. My personal take is also that it feels easy to follow Lana, she doesn’t do that much of performance and interviews and music videos and tv appearances. The core of “liking” Lana is basically listening to the music. Like someone new to the pop music world would have to keep up with a lot of Gaga or Beyoncé or Taylor related stuff to really appreciate their records, but with Lana the music stands on its own

Bolkins 4,075
I think for the first 10 years Lana built-up a dedicated fan base that 'got' her music, but outside of that fan base she really struggled to get past the whole "shes so depressing, all her music sounds the same' crowd. With younger listeners today, I think Lana's music has way more of a mass-appeal that it did previously because younger people prefer the style of music that she does. Look at the success of Billie, Olivia etc both who have cited Lana has a key inspiration to their sound and style Not the bore worms!
Dr Fudge 8,587
Honestly, I think her talent just finally caught up to the gp. She’s consistently put out incredible music with each album. In short, talent wins Been a cuff touple, a puff bupple, a tough couple of years.

hELXIG 41,607
2 things I think 1. Her loyal, longtime fanbase has stuck with her and continues to grow 2. Honestly don't underestimate the power of TikTok...those viral clips could've gotten millions of people to give her back catalogue a listen and made her thousands-millions of new fans. TikTok revived the long-rested body of Bloody Mary and sent her to radio 11 years after her creation I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin. StrawberryBlond 14,102
I think she was going through a bit of rut musically and really came back to form with her new album and it reinvigorated interest in her. Her new music is also a bit different to her last few albums and contains some of her most personal and hard-hitting material yet. Some people just take a bit of time to get fully appreciated too. If she gets her first ever Grammy for this, she'll truly have earned it and it'll be the icing on the cake.

holy scheisse 21,613
Idk younger listeners discovering her music maybe, since many millennials didn’t appreciate her brilliance during her come up Or…. she collabed with Taylor swift and the power rubbed off idk
Ziggy 10,734
In addition to what others said, she has now had 2 critically acclaimed albums while being a main staple darling of internet cultureheads since her debut. She’s kinda always lingered in pop culture and then she put out NFR and people took her seriously bc critics finally did lmao but she’s always been fairly consistent branding-wise. She has done the opposite of others, for better or worse at times, by not really changing that dramatically aesthetically.
