Idk who this person is but the entire plot of the movie is Ariel discovering why it was a mistake to give up parts of herself for another person, when she would be loved for who she was no matter what. But anything for clout I guess

Pretty sure most people than not have seen the little mermaid and it hasn’t had catastrophic effects on society so far but fingers crossed :traumatica:

They don’t do that in the new movie as far as i’m aware. She needs to calm down.

Nobody tell her that in the 1975 movie she not only gives up her voice but dies and turns to sea foam for being a pick-me. :billie:

Why is everyone making their point by referring to previous movie versions, and not, you know, the original fairytale? :air:

Its wrong to allow your partner to take away your voice, but thats not what the movie is about. Its about fighting to be with the love of your life even if you had to sacrifice something.

Hoping her kids have better comprehension skills if that’s what she took away from the movie 🥴

...the whole point of the movie is that she SHOULDN'T have given up her voice to be heard...:awkney:

It's not even a hidden message, they literally say that IN THE FILM.

Right? Ariel made a mistake, suffered the consequences, and learned from her experience. And then we are blatantly told what the moral is. Are characters not allowed to make bad decisions and learn from them?

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
