I like Doja Cat and her music a ton but this attitude is not it. She needs to drink some humble juice right now. She can go to those islands and touch that grass because of the success of Hot Pink and Planet Her. Her fans (myself included) love those albums and they have so many good songs on them. I think it's pretty agreeable that Doja is a good rapper, and if she wants to show more of that talent on DC4 then sure, I will support. But she can't say that her last two LP's were purely pop and cash grabs. They had some meaningful songs on them and Doja spat on many of the tracks.

Anyway, I guess we'll see what happens with First of All (or whatever she ends up naming it because I bet the title will change a third time). This is her 4th album and the 4th album curse is alive and well. She shouldn't alienate her fanbase like this if she wants it to succeed.

I think this comes from getting famous during Covid and then being stuck in the online world. She hasn’t really connected with her fanbase other than speaking to them on social media, and from what I’ve read she gets upset at some criticism even though it’s mostly coming from fake trolls. 
 

Also to the people saying she’s wealthy now and can do what she wants creatively, that’s not entirely true. Artists make their money touring, and as far as I know she’s yet to go on an arena level solo tour. That’s why this is such weird energy to have about your hits so early in your career.

I think this is the popstar's equivalent to burnout, it happens to so many pop artists after they get a string of hits. Remember when Miley went all "pop is lame im all about genuine real hip hop now!!" in 2013? It hurts to see the artist sh*tting on their own creation that you loved, but this is a pretty normal kinda reaction to the pressures pop stars are under to always outchart, outperform, and outsell.

This. She's trying to **** on RCA and is trying to rebel. Why she shaved her head, is getting tattoos, talking down on pop. The industry wants her to be a pretty perfect pop girl and it's not what she wants to do. It's been obvious over the past few years that her label and management are having her do stuff she doesn't wanna do. Awards shows, photoshoots, and all her features.
