They mic up because sometimes the girls will say things/respond to judges comments/capture the sound of girls tripping and falling

That said, if the producers have been able to mic up for the many nude illusion runways we've had, they'll be able to mic up for a latex tearaway

I’ve always wondered about this! Like, how much power does Ru actually have when it comes to these decisions. I used to think it was all 100% Ru running the show but some of the stories these queens tell about production almost make it seem like Rupaul is just a ceremonial figurehead while the strings are pulled from the shadows by the dragluminati.
