I have a feeling his character on The Idol is going to be not just villainous, but straight-up revulsive and hateable. His character abuses Lily Rose's right? I'm not surprised that Abel would want to get far away from his character after living in an abusive person's headspace for a while. The whole The Weeknd character was kind of about embracing that toxic/dark side of fame which probably wasn't feeling so great to be expected to live as.

Here's hoping his new musical projects broaden his horizons and let him be a healthier person and not get stuck as a particular character 🥂

This will be interesting, to see someone with a radically different stage name ditch the name and continue in the business.
