A McDonald's in Kentucky was fined nearly $40,000 after it was discovered it employed at least two 10 year olds sometimes until 2am without paying them

 

The same location also had some under 16 operate deep friers which is prohibited by State Law

I heard about this last week but didn’t read up on it. Per the article, the franchise owner claims the 10 year olds were kids of night shift managers.
 

It’s unfortunate that a parent has to bring their child to their job since child care is expensive. I worked nights and weekends until last summer and it kept me from doing other activities but I don’t have kids. I feel for these people who’s work shifts prevent them from spending time with their children and families. 
 

I know many family owned small business like restaurant and small stores sometimes have their kids work and help out but this is different. 
 

If it turns out the McDonalds was scouting and hiring 10 year olds, then I wouldn’t have any problem with them suing the eff out of that franchise owner.

My coworker was telling me he heard the story as well and there was additional fines afterwards because of more infractions as well that added up to a lot more but i don't know if thats true cuz the article I found doesn't mention it
