It's a joke on here? I feel like half the forum is genuine about it.

I do it for the meme :gayhat:

I mean, I find him boring af but that's also the reason it's hard to actively dislike him. It's like...how do you dislike food with no discernable flavor. It's that blandness that protects him from being offensive :laughga:

And, as far as I know, he's not outspoken on any particular issues so there's no opinions to dislike.

If he has any scandals, I'm unaware of them.

Truly, he is the epitome of bland and basic but that's also why he's out there crushing records so he should keep it up :gayhat:

River

Shape of You stole from No Scrubs and he lost and had to pay royalties + it sounds like every Sia song.

He's acting like he's so original but it's not the first time that his songs sounds like other songs

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

Well we could only hope!

Every musician will be screwed if he loses. Get ready for every song released to rely on samples because it will be legally safer. We already have seen a huge uptick in sample heavy pop songs since Marvin Gaye’s estate won against Pharell for Blurred Lines copying “the feel” of one of his songs despite there being no composition similarities. Just look at situations like Olivia Rodrigo adding Paramore to the writing credits if Good 4 U because people said it reminded them of Misery Business - once again despite there being no composition similarities. Lawsuits like this are destroying the music industry and artists ability to just freely create a new song.

Outside of similarities, does anyone know if there's actual evidence he plagiarized? Like, perhaps the original audio recorded through a DAW had a copy/paste of a stem file from the Marvin Gaye song? I feel like it's very difficult to prove melodies/a song's composition is actually stolen without evidence of the recording process pieces because most musical similarities really can come down to a number of factors.

Wow, the whole future of music relying on Ed Sheeran. These are dark times indeed.

My. Lawyer. Liked. That.

Sometimes when I feel nauseous or just want a simple day I'll eat a bland food. But I'm never gonna be bored of music or annoyed and want a bland Ed Sheeran track, and that's the difference :ladyhaha:

I think what really does it for me is the promo and pretentious attitude. He has to know. He HAS TO know that he makes the most bland music ever recorded. But he acts like it's a message passed down by the big man upstairs himself and the cockiness is just so tiring.

I don't even listen to Ed Sheeran but they sound like a bunch of boomers on Facebook :reductive:

Youd see the exact comments on FB if Lady Gaga said the same thing.

Do you feel him sir?
