I dunno why but it seems like high schools in the US are much more lively with events, extracurricular events, hot gossip, parties etc :enigma:

Maybe tv seriously misrepresents it but here in Canada most high schools are essentially a non event where like nothing happens. It's literally dry toast

rihannas superbowl is underrated, sure she didnt dance as much as gaga or beyonce, but her hits spoke for themselves and her dancers killed it - no other pop girly has as perfect of a discography as rihanna

Plus considering she was pregnant I think people were way too harsh with her about the lack of dancing.

Even when your young, healthy and have a relatively problematic free pregnancy your still going to get tired a little faster and more easily than in normal circumstances. Holding her up to a usual standard is not really fair

Honestly, I think the song choices largely contributed to why it didn’t get as much acclaim.

1) I think a lot of people were expecting more of her older songs (like Don’t Stop the Music & Disturbia) or Lift Me Up, and may not be familiar with her current discography if they’re in the 40+ demo.

2) BBHMM probably wasn’t the best opener, again due to popularity among demographics.

3) Too many dance breaks that didn’t have adequate choreo.

4) She did two Kanye songs.

of course i wanted disturbia or pon de replay but when beyonce and gaga performed they missed so many songs i wouldve liked to hear.... you can only fit in so many songs

the dancers killed it, rihanna couldnt really move cuz shes pregnant and i think she should be affored more grace and not dropping out - i mean when men dont do intense choreo they are chastised like she was and the men cant use being pregnant as an excuse.

i dont like kanye but all of the lights and run this town are two of her biggest and most well known songs

katy didnt do much choreo when she performed but she was not crucified

madonna didnt sing a second of her set live but she wasnt shitted on

rihanna did the best she could and yes it couldve been better, but that could be said about any halftime show, theres things about gaga and beyonces performances that couldve definitely been changed or improved on

I think her pregnancy made it more special than any dancing could.
