Just realized she hasn’t commented on it at all to my knowledge, or has she?
We know she has stopped to engage with the public for one reason or/and another, but it really feels off that she hasn’t been talking about this since the people effected by this f‘ery have always been a huge reason why she got her start to begin with.

that being said, a lot of „ally celebs“ aren’t really vocal about it 🙄

I think she's just taking a break in general in regards to social media. She's barely on it anymore.

That said, she was pretty outspoken during The Chromatica Ball in regards to abortion rights and other political and civil rights issues and is chairing the Arts Council for the WH. She also did that talk and some other charity things in relation to the MLK group back during the inauguration. Point is, she's clearly still political so I wouldn't be surprised if she ends up saying something later on.

Well, I'd say at the moment she isn't commenting on it because it's still an issue in limbo and she may simply not be informed enough on the particulars to throw her voice in.

I live in Tennessee, and I can tell you first hand that it's not really clear what's happening other than they are attempting to attack trans people and the wider LGBTQ+ community as a whole. To what extent that attack is legally binding is what's unclear.

The drag bill was blocked by a federal judge so it as of right now is not in effect and it's unclear whether or not it will ever be allowed to come into effect. If it is, county to county there are disagreements among police, mayors, and sheriffs about whether or not they'll be enforcing it. Some counties are all for it, others aren't.

Make no mistake, trans people and drag queens are under attack which is why statements from people like Lizzo and Madonna are powerful, but at the moment there's so much complicated legal stuff happening that no one really knows whether or not this is just words at this point or if this is a genuine law. That block and the subsequent legal back and forth has made a lot of things unclear.

All we know for sure is that, as of writing, the bill has been stopped from advancing and cannot be acted upon. How long that holds, we don't know. Given our state legislature's track record, it would not shock me if they tried it again and again and again until something sticks.

Thank you!
Im sitting here in Berlin, Germany watching all of this from a very far, listening to podcasts and so on, so it’s nice to actually hear from someone living there.

I think maybe you should look into what Gaga has done for the community, specifically Dont Ask Dont Tell, before trying to suggest her being an ally is performative. Also look into BTWF's donations to LGBT  foundations and the research they've done. I feel like this is a much more useful way to spend time rather than creating yet another thread about how Gaga hasn't spoken on x issue and how it's offensive/disappointing that she's simply taking advantage of y group.

Gypsy Hero, fighting for the rights of all gays by exposing the hypocrisy of mother monster, on her own fansite! Stay tuned next week to see if her 15 years of alliance with the gay community has been true, or just a Perfect Illusion

I don't think tweeting about something counts as activism. I think it's lame to be pressuring celebs to tweet about political issues, because it spreads the message that tweeting is doing something helpful. But it's not, tweeting and announcing goodness on social media is just virtue signaling and improving one's own image. I think Gaga is cool for doing charitable and activist things behind the scenes and not making it about her own image. I think that, by pressuring her to tweet, ppl are actually pressuring her to BECOME a "performative ally." Tweeting is peak "performative ally." So stop with the judgment of Gaga's morals over whether or not she twats a tweet.

I've taken a few dips in the lady pond
